Molly
The first day we met Molly and her litter this past July, we thought we were in for it since she was the most energetic and adventurous puppy there. As we drove up to meet them, Molly and her siblings came scurrying towards us and we knew we wouldn’t be able to leave without adopting one of them. Molly has turned out to be the sweetest and quietest dog we have ever met. Her chosen method of communication is to simply sit and stare at you until you either; walk, feed or play with her. She usually prefers napping to any other activity and must also be friends with any person she comes across.
We want to thank Pawsitive Match for their amazing work, especially Varnita and Mirella for helping us to welcome Molly into our family!

Bailey and Candy
Hello everyone,
We wanted to tell you how happy we are with our 2 beautiful girls. Bailey (formally Chaquita) has been with us since March 2009. Candy joined our family in September 2009.
Our family has been through a rough summer. In June we had to make the sad decision to put down our 12 year old Lhasa Apso named Caillou. Caillou was suffering from Cushings Disease and also had heart disease. Just recently we were again forced to make the same decision with our 18 year old Boston Terrier named Pogo. Although his heart was there, his body and mind were not, and we gave him peace.
Our 2 girls have provided the happiness and joy we desperately needed in order to recover from our losses. We knew that Bailey would need a sister or brother with enough energy to withstand her hours of playing. Candy has met the challenge! They play and run around the yard for hours! They love to grab the rope, or any other toy, and run around with both hanging on to it. Their favorite game to play is to go up our stairs with a toy, then drop it down the stairs so it makes noise all the way down. They seen to think this is quite funny.
We are very fortunate to have them both in our lives.
Thank you Pawsitivematch, you have made our family complete again.
Sincerely,
Cindy Birch

PonyGirl
'PonyGirl' is now living with us in Nelson, British Columbia. She is a sweet, loving, gentle and smart puppy. She was a little shy & timid for a few days, but after our total immersion program she is a different dog. She now loves all people, kids and other dogs. She is a joy to bring visiting and is very well behaved and mature for her age. She was housetrained almost instantly from day one. Our love affair with Mexican dogs began 14years ago when we adopted our first beach stray, 'Cowgirl'. From then on, we knew we would always have a 'mexi-mutt'.
PonyGirl thanks all of you for taking such good care of her in La Paz and for getting her to Canada. We do too.

Kipper
We adopted Kipper last summer. He came from Mexico. He is such a big part of our everyday now that I couldn't imagine him not being in our family. He is such a sweet dog, very smart and learns very quickly. He still loves his hot and sunny places. Everyday he follows the sun beams that come in the windows across the floor and up the couch until they're gone. He loves the snow just as much surprisingly. I want to thank all the volunteers that made it possible to have Kipper join our family in good health and spirits. He fit into our family from the first moment he met us and has been nothing but loving toward us. He's a great dog and I am so thankful that there was people that cared for him as we do now to make it possible for him to have a home.
There is no way to thank you for the happiness you brought our family. Thank you for caring and all your hard work to find our dog his home.

Oddie
Well....ODDIE how do I explain him. He has taken us through some interesting places and always keeps us on our toes. He has fit right into our family and is the dog we were looking for. A year and a half ago we lost our shepherd/husky of 13 years and it took us at least a year to feel we could bring another dog into our lives. Then when we started looking, all the dogs were cute, but they weren't "THE DOG". Finally we decided to rescue, and when we started looking at all the rescue sights nothing really fit, then there was Oddie. He has the look we were seeking and from the e-mails he had everything else we were looking for as well.
Anyway, he has been with us 3 months and has fit right in. He is a true comfort dog, and loves the luxuries of life. All the couches and beds are his. He also needs pillows sometimes to rest his head...what a character. He also has made the house and yard his play ground. Sometimes he gets these bursts of energy and runs like someone is hot on his tail. He loves his big brother Kalo the boxer and they are constantly wrestling (it never ends), and he likes to chase his sister Shasta the cat. But they are all one big happy family. Oddie makes us laugh as he just cannot get close enough to you, and always has to have your attention and will do whatever he can to get it. He loves daycare, going for long walks at the dog run, and spending time with family enjoying his bones and other goodies.
Samantha, Chris, Oddie, Kalo and Shasta

Rascal
We just wanted to let you all know that Rascal is happily settled into his new home! He has been with us for a month now & how quickly that time has flown by! Rascal by name & Rascal by nature! It was that cheeky little face & shock of white hair that first attracted us to him! He is such a happy boy with his tail in perpetual motion! He loves to walk along the river path sniffing every blade of grass on his way & meeting & greeting other dogs & their owners & dipping his feet in the river before we head home! Thank you so much Pawsitive Match for bringing this wonderful puppy into our home & into our hearts! We just all love him dearly! Keep up the fantastic work you all do!
Best wishes from Gary, Elaine, Harry & Jack Eaton

Copper
Copper came into our lives in November of 2007 and we can honestly say that deciding to adopt him was the best decision that we, as a family, have ever made. He has become a very cherished and valued member of our family. In April 2009, our cat of fifteen years went into respiratory distress and it was Copper that alerted us to this fact by barking relentlessly until we came to investigate. If he hadn't been here, she would have died all alone and without us ever knowing why. Because of him, we were able to say goodbye to a very good friend and to give her the care that she needed until she died. Copper was already so special to us, but he definitely became our hero that day. Thank you so much for helping us to find our very dear friend, Copper.

Abbie and Marina
My son and I flew from Vancouver Island to Calgary in early July 2007 to take home Abby and Marina, the first of many future dogs rescued from Mexico. We didn't know at the time it would be Abby and Marina who we brought home, but they both spoke to us as we visited the 16 or so dogs who had been saved. They picked us. Abby was a gentle, timid girl who pressed her forehead to mine and leaned into me as if to say "Finally you are here, I am so happy to see you." Marina stayed back from the pack who were running enthusiastically up through the foothills on acres and acres of ranch land, waiting for Erik to accompany her. Abby and Marina lead different lives based on their styles and preferences.
I will talk about my girl Abby, Erik will write about Marina. Abby made herself comfortable immediately, choosing my best leather couch to call her own, putting her signature on it with her teeth and chew marks! She is, by all accounts,a couch potato who loves her pillow and blanket, her plush squeaky toys, and above all, her bones. She talks to us, yodels actually, she talks back to us, and although she was intended to be my walking companion, she decided she liked my daughter better, a child with autism who means the world to Abby and vice versa. They eat together (when I am not looking!), sleep together and play together. Abby is a real character, a light in our life we are so grateful to have received. Except yesterday perhaps when she was dutifully waiting for me in the car after grocery shopping and when I had to stop in somewhere else for a few minutes. She bypassed the hamburger, bacon, sausages and ate an entire tray of sirloin tip steaks! Nothing but the best for our girly girl Abby!

Marina
Having recently turned 20 and graduating with a diploma in Adventure Tourism I was looking for a canine companion since the death of my beloved Freda (another rescue dog) when I was 14. Although my parents offered me the opportunity to get another dog, it took 6 years for me to feel ready to move on from Freda. I flew out with my mother in 2007 to look for my future hiking, diving, climbing, kayaking, and river rafting companion. I had a type of dog in mind, but Marina picked me right away. I have not looked back. Marina was named for my love of the ocean, and she shares the enthusiasm and energy I have for all of my outdoor activities. She is an athlete, a calming reassuring spirit, my protector, and my best friend. There is not an activity she hesitates to participate in, she plays hard and sleeps hard! In fact, there have been times I have slept on the floor because once she gets into position in bed, often stretched out as far as possible, you cannot move her! She needs her sleep! I am sending a lot of photos of our adventures. I am very happy she has been able to enjoy them with me. I might have rescued her with the help of all the caring and heroic people of pawsitive match, but she rescued me too! I cannot imagine my life without her. She is the world's best dog!

Maddie
Maddie ( AKA Mabel) came into our lives on wednesday June 10th.
She was a little frightened and confused at first but she has settled down very much since then. She is an amazing dog, and already I love her so much. She and my little doggie Luka have already bonded very strongly, and Maddie looks for Luka when she can not find her. I have been searching for so long for the perfect doggie sister for Luka, and here she is!
Thank-you positive match, for the amazing care and love you give to these dogs in need, with out the tireless work the volunteers, rescuers and fosterparents, these dogs would not have stood much of a chance. Maddie is already such an important part of my life, and having my two little girls have brought me so much joy, and love.

Esperenza
Hello from Armstrong, BC
I searched high and low for a rescue dog on every site I could find and while there were some that I came across that drew me to them none had the pull that little Esperanza did! I was at a point in my life that I had to make that dreaded decision that most dog owners have to face when my old dog of 14 years could no longer eat so we had to take her to the vet and set her free. After that day, little Esperanza's image just kept surfacing and I found myself on the site everyday just staring at her picture. I had heard about dog's from Mexico and how they are treated and then I came across a website that had a trailer on it from a documentary called "Companions to none". I was horrified at what I saw but that made my decision, I was going to adopt Esperanza!!
When I contacted Pawsitive Match I asked if they could have a dog flown to Kelowna but so far they couldn't as they have no connections there so I said that I wouldn't be out to Calgary until August. They told me that she would probably be adopted by then. That's when panic set in so luckily I have my sister that lives there so I filled out the application form and sent it in! I was soon approved and I was on my way to Calgary on June 6th! My mom was terrified for me as the weather report said that it was going to snow, yes you heard right, snow but nothing was going to stop me from picking her up at the Calgary Airport. We arrived in Calgary about 2:30pm to hail and snow flurries that soon subsided. We were to pick her up by 9:35pm Saturday night. When the dogs were unloaded and the crates were brought into the airport I was searching the crates trying to find her. I saw big crates and small crates and medium sized crates but none held my little angel then my husband spotted a duffle bag dog carrier that was quite small and then he saw it move! "I think that's her" he said. A lady opened the bag and I knew instantly it was her. She was so beautiful! She was everything and more than I expected I was beside myself with excitement!
As soon as we got there she came out of her shell and played just like a puppy should, keeping my sister in stitches as she wrestled and played with a German Shepherd, golden lab and my other dog Wilson a border collie/LabX. We left first thing in the morning and Wilson and her slept side by side in the back seat of the truck cab and have been best friends ever since.
We arrived back home at about 3:00pm on Sunday June 7th and she fit in here so well you'd think we'd had her for years. My two daughters who are 5 and 3 were so excited when they saw her, they have played non stop since we got back. So, I just wanted to thank everyone at Pawsitive Match for bringing her into my life and want everyone out there to know that if you're looking for a dog, please adopt, I guarantee you WILL NOT regret it!!!
Thanks again,
Tracy Edwards and Family

Nina
We adopted Nina last year on March 31, 2008.....It has been a little over a year now and we couldn't be happier. She is a fantastic dog and has brought more to this family than we ever could have imagined. Thanks for doing what you do.

Holly (Dora)
Holly (aka Dora) came into our lives on March 30, 2009 when I found her on the Pawsitive Match website. I immediately contacted my fiancé and made him look at this lost little girl. He instantly fell in love, just as I had. I quickly filled out the adoption form and waited to hear. To my surprise it was only a few hours before we were contacted by our Adoption Coordinator. We set up a time for the home visit and waited as patiently as we could. We both knew and made it very clear that the adoption would be entirely up to our first dog, Bentley. He's six years old and we've always wanted him to have a sibling, but were unsure how he'd react. The adpoption coordinator came over, and approved us so we set up a meeting time at our house for the 2 kids. I don't think Jeff or I slept, given how excited we were!
The day that she was set to come over, we got up early and took Bentley out for a nice long run in the park in hopes of mellowing him out (he's a Beagle) for the big meeting. When Holly finally arrived, Bentley charged in to see who was there and Holly screeched and ran to hide behind Jamie. Then Bentley figured out she was just a little puppy and immediately rolled on to his back for her! She ran right up to him and they started playing and didn't stop until much later that night when they both collapsed into their beds.
Holly has been with us for just over 10 days now, and we already see an amazing difference in her and Bentley. She has really come out of her shell and is much more a dog now that she's spent some time with one. He's taught her how to play his favorite game (tug of war) and how to sit properly. She has reminded him that life in the house can be just as fun as outside. He's got way more energy and generally seems more content to have a little sister. She has learned how to sit extremely well, she's learned how to lie down, get in her crate, not to jump up on people and she's learning how to stay. Given how quickly she's learning, I have no doubt that by the end of the week she'll have it mastered!
I really wanted to thank you very much for bringing the amazing little girl into our lives. We never felt an emptiness before we met her, but now we feel really whole as a family.

Regalo(Chato)
When we lost our beloved dog of 15 years to kidney failure, we were devastated. I knew we needed another dog at some point to help us move on. Pawsative Match helped us find the perfect pet. We saw pictures of Regalo as a puppy and just fell in live and knew we wanted him. Once he flew up from Mexico in late February and we met him for the first time, we didn’t even need to discuss it at all, we knew we had found him. He was very young , not even 8 weeks old, but honestly, the best puppy imaginable. He is just a calm, relaxed puppy, good on walks and just loves everyone and everything, even our 2 cats. He has adjusted surprisingly well and any situation we take him into we are taken back at how well he reacts. Wherever we go people admire how cute he is and his awesome personality and ask us where we got him from. People are so surprised when we say he is from Mexico. I hope it makes people consider adoption when they see what great dogs are available while saving an animal’s life. Reaglo has brought us so much joy and really helped us heal a once broken heart and we love him so much! By the way, Reaglo means gift in Spanish, and he really has been. Thanks Pawsative Match!

Mr. Buddy Yoda and Rex
It was April 12, 2008 when Chris & Shannon found us and took us to live with them and the rest of the crew and life has never been better. We have six canine cousins and five feline buds who welcomed us and continue to accept us as long lost family members. Chris & Shannon seem to think we're pretty special too and made sure from the start that we didn't just get lost in the crowd but gave us special one on one time right from the beginning.
Mr. Buddy Yoda (Japanese Chin/Spaniel) - My iffy health (Grade 4 heart murmur, four remaining teeth, 2 punctured ear drums) hasn't stopped me from having a ball out here exploring, playing, enjoying great grub. Mom keeps me on my heart meds every day whether I want them or not, and I just celebrated my 11th birthday yesterday! It took me a few weeks before I realized that every car ride wasn't to drop me off somewhere else and that every visitor wasn't there to take me away - and then did my confidence ever skyrocket. I have a place in the pack. My place - forever.
Rex (Jack Russell/Lab Cross) - Look, I only have a couple of minutes - just too much to do today. Magpies to be chased, coyotes to be harrassed, walks to explore, naps to take. It's all go, go, go! Oh yeah, everyone here loves me but why not - I'm a loveable kind of guy, full of fun and energy and not a mean bone in my body - except when I see a coyote, then just watch Bear & Banjo and me go - so far, the coyotes go too and faster than us. We don't really want to engage them, just make them stay away from our home. Hey, did you hear that - OUR home. Sounds good doesn't it.

Pasha
Hi there!
When we first saw Pancha on your Homepage we knew that’s our dog! She is an amazing little dog and we couldn’t be more happy !
She loves to go outside and play with our second dog Mojo.
She is doing great and comes more and more out of her shell. We love her and will give her a loving foreverhome!
Thank you so much
Sandra and Manuel

Frida
Our family adopted Frida on February 7th, 2009 and we couldn't be more happy. We absolutely love her. Her ears are what first caught my eyes and now that we have her I don't know what we would do without her. She is a fantastic dog and loves going for her walks twice a day. She's getting used to our cold weather in Edmonton and she will gladly let me put on her coat before we go.
Frida is great around all people even kids which is super because I have a lot of nieces and nephews that come over to visit. She loves all the attention she gets. She has her own bed but she would rather snuggle with us on the couch.
She also loves going for cars rides which is great since I take her everywhere. I can't wait for the summer so we can take her camping.
I'm so happy we got her. She is the part of the family and we love her. She is a perfect match. I can't wait to see what happens with all of us in the future. Good times are just waiting to be had.
Thank-you so much,
Nadine, Nicholaus, Alexandra & Frida
