Everyone, this is Pekoe……

Pekoe is a friend, not just any friend! She is a very best friend, anyone has met her can agree with me! Pekoe is a friendly wonderful girl, she seems to bond with anyone she meets and befriends them with a charming and spunky personality. She is strong in personality and is very playful. She has an uncanny ability to turn everything in to a fun game, and can make you laugh at length with great ease. She loves to GO GO GO, and stops once in a while to eat and sleep for a few hours. However Pekoe needs help to do these things, she does not have the ability to run and jump and play as much as she wants to or needs to. Pekoe has severe Hip Dysplasia, and unfortunately this hinders her from living the life she was born to live! She lives with much difficulty and pain in her everyday life, though she does not always show it, we can see it and even though her pain may elude us physically, we can feel it in our hearts for her!

She has difficulty walking up and down the stairs which is not good for her because wherever we are she needs to be with us. The cold bothers her hips more now, and as winter is coming she could sure use some help! She longs to play and wrestle with our other dogs and make new friends but due to her medical state, she may be hurt if she does these things. Pekoe needs two new hips, which is a big surgery and an even bigger recovery for her, but I know that with this surgery, Pekoe can have the life she deserves and be a happy girl and free of a condition that even sometimes she forgets about! This big brave girl is one of the most loving, loyal, funny and personable pups I have ever had the privilege of being around and caring for, she teaches me more then I could ever teach her on a daily basis and I long to see her live a full and joyful life!

I know Pekoe would be very grateful in her silly way for any help that anyone could give her. If I know her, she would reach over and paw at you with a thankful and playful twinkle in her eyes. If you would like to help Pekoe on her road to recovery, she would be so happy and so would we. She is a gift and because she gives a lot, we would like to give her this one!

Blue's medical bills have been paid for and your support is greatly appreciated!

Blue arrived in Calgary from Mexico recently and was very sick when she got here. She needed to be hospitalized for 7 days while she was treated. Unfortunately her condition required 24 hour care and monitoring. Blue is recovered now, and hopefully will show no signs of her condition later in life.

Ela was found with an old injury that left the bones in her hip rubbing together. This was very painful for her to walk. The surgery to repair her joint was very expeinsive and we raised the $2,500 to cover it. She too deserved that chance at a forever home!

COPPER

Copper lived his life as a breeding dog and it certainly was hard on him. He came into care with no hair left on his back and terrible periodontal disease! With quality food and lots of love Copper's hair is growing back. But he still needs a dental surgery and cleaning worth $500.

Beth was found in the freezing cold in a rural area near Edmonton with a completely mangled bottom jaw. She had several broken and mis-aligned teeth. She may have been kicked, or hit by a car, but no one got her help until she came into our rescue. We raised $1,247 to cover the cost of her surgery.
