My wife Debbie and I picked up Maggie from PAWS in May of 2015. We renamed her after Maggie May the Rod Stewart song. Formely Muneca which is spanish for doll. Rescued from Los Cabos Mexico - guessed her age then at 1+.
She was very thin but healthy. She soon filled in to a healthier weight. Loves her walks and hates her brothers and sister cats but tolerates them. She has a great life now and has an annoying baby brother Jasper ( hyper border pup ) to keep her entertained.
We are very grateful to have her in our lives.
I adopted Hugo 3 years ago after I had moved into my first home. I have never lived without a dog and was looking for the perfect match. Hugo has provided endless entertainment with his goofy and grumpy antics. His favourite things include napping and burrowing, barking, eating, destroying toys and picking on his younger brother.
Luna entered our lives by quietly accepting us, giving us some of her trust. We've learned that she's full of fun, curiosity, stubbornness and love. Luna rallies her human troops for a morning walk every day of the year and makes it fun. The best walk includes exploring near a river and using all her senses to hunt voles - not that she's ever caught one. Luna is the best cuddler in the world and will be loved forever.
Desi and Chili are best friends who go on play dates every weekend. Both Desi and Chili started out their lives in Mexico over 4 years ago, but they hit the jackpot when they got adopted to two loving families in Calgary. Their favourite thing to do is chase each other and run laps as fast as they can around Edgemont Park.
Remington is a Pawsitive Match dog that came into their care last fall with a dislocated shoulder, broken jaw, broken teeth and incredibly painful ear infections. PMRF and their team of vets worked very hard to make Remi feel better. Please support Remi by making a donation in his name. He is always smiling despite what he's been through and he's happy and loved because of PMRF.
Remington's foster family will match $ for $ up to $250 for any donations towards Remington
Hi. My name is Blondie. I was rescued from La Paz as a street dog. I have a lot of different breeds in me, one of which I believe is “beaver”! You should see my feet! I live with my forever family in Calgary, but also love visiting the farm to chase gophers, roll on the green grass and spend endless hours on the deck watching the world go by. I also like car rides and hanging my head out the window to catch the lovely breeze in my ears.
Abe was a former California boy, who is a sweet and cuddly old soul with a spunky side. His Furever family of 5 months will always be grateful to Pawsitive match for helping us find our perfect pet
Almond is a Chihuahua and Terrier cross, and is proud of it! She is fast and loves to run and play with her new sister Lucy.
Named for the coloring of Elsa the lion cub in the award-winning movie Born Free (not the kids movie 'Frozen'), little Elsa has a ferocious love for her family. She is very slowly overcoming reactive issues with other people and it does make one wonder what happened to her on the streets of LA before coming to us. She isn't afraid of traffic, vehicles, noise ... just terrified of people.
Though initially considered 'unadoptable', Elsa quickly wiggled her way into our hearts and found her forever home with us, her foster family. She is a busy little girl, enjoys running and playing fetch with her people and chasing and wrestling with her four furry brothers and sisters. She is, finally, a well-loved dog and slowly learning that she is safe.
What wonderful lessons Sergio has taught us in only a few months of arriving from the streets of Mexico !
Every day is like Christmas Day for our wee guy – waking us up every morning by jumping on our bed.
A reminder to enjoy each and every day for all its beauty and keep a look out for all its treats!
We were told that Lulu was found by PMRF living at an Alberta dump when she was 6 months old. As soon as we met her at her foster's we knew she would be a great companion for our very shy Shepherd .
This girl is very mischievous, fun and about as loyal a dog as you can get . Her favourite thing is too steal your shoes and tease you with them , as she always stays just out of reach .
Juan: 28 in dog years, I’ve been in Canada for almost 5 years now and loved every minute of it, minus the snow - Mexico’s weather is mucho better. I consider myself to be quite the handsome deviI, if you don’t agree, you’re wrong. I enjoy running as fast as I can and lounging in the sun, while being spoon fed steak frites. I like to think of myself as the life of the pawty and love being the centre of attention.
Rhino: 7 ½ in dog years, I consider Juan my best friend. I like to drink out of the toilet, like all the time.
I enjoy eating large meals and then getting my belly rubbed by my roommates. I’d like to think I am a pretty outgoing dude, but if you think I’ll share my snacks with you, think again.
I rescued her, then she rescued me.
I adopted Hazel from the wonderful volunteers of Pawsitive Match when she was just four months old. As a recent retiree, she has brought new meaning and purpose to my life. She is mix of German Shepherd and Border Collie so she is very smart and eager to please. Together, we have explored many of the beautiful parks and off-leash areas around Calgary.
