The 2024 Calendar Contest has now ended

The top 13 dogs and cats with the highest dollar amounts raised will be featured in our 2024 calendar! Voting by donation will be open August 1, 2023 and close September 10 at 9pm. During that time you will be able to donate any amount to your favourite dog or cat. All entrants can ask family, friends, and anyone they know to donate to their animal! All donations including the entry fee will go directly to PMRF and the animals in our care. Note that votes are for the animal and not the photo, and the final photos may differ from the ones on this page.

Our goal for the calendar this year is to cover a portion of the cost of our current medical bills which is $15,000. Tax receipts will be provided for all donations. Please note that we require your mailing address for the CRA in order to provide charitable tax receipts, please provide this information during the PayPal checkout. If you do not wish to use a credit card/PayPal, you may vote by sending an e-transfer to donate@pawsitivematch.org. You must include your email address and the name of the animal you are voting for in the message section.

In addition to being in the 2024 calendar, the top winner will win a mini professional photoshoot from Heidi Grace Pet Portraiture, which includes a mounted print of your favourite image.

Bambi

Bambi, a born runner, was initially so afraid that we could only do short walks in the alley. She also coped with rotten teeth, hospitalization and learning to be friends with other dogs. After a year, the joy this girl has from running radiates from miles away! And most dogs at the park are new friends. The house now truly is home sweet home and she’ll make sure you know if you’re ever passing by. Car rides now mean we are going somewhere fun. Can’t wait for the next adventure - hiking!

Benji and Popcorn

Benji and Popcorn are complete opposites, but still cousins. They really like each other- well, Popcorn likes Benji, and Benji tolerates Popcorn.

Big Ben

Ben is our cool, sophisticated, tough-guy shepherd. At least that's what he wants you to think - actually, he is the biggest love bug and a little bit shy of anything new. His favorite pastime is barking at birds in the backyard, at least he feels safe with them. Ben is a Pawsitive Match foster fail from 2020.

Bud

This is Bud - we sadly had to say goodbye to him a couple of months ago. We adopted Bud about six years ago from Pawsitive Match. He was a very loving, goofy guy that was everyone’s buddy. At every opportunity he would sit on your lap even though he was 100 pounds. We loved him dearly.

Callie

We adopted Callie from Pawsitive Match in April 2023 at approximately 10 months old. She is an absolute gem, the sweetest little girl.

Charlie

Charlie came to us as a foster having been surrendered by a family, twice. At 10 years old, she needed lots of love and all the comforts that a senior should have. She is a foster win! And now at 12 years old, she is living her best life.

Chewie

At only 4 months old, Chewie the Frenchie has stolen the hearts of many with his dashing good looks and stunning personality. Chewie enjoys long walks along the river, watching Star Wars (his favorite movie franchise) and lives up to his name by taking delight in chewing everything in sight.

Chloe

This is Chloe. She is 8 years old and adopted from a local rescue 4 years ago! She loves to look out the window at the birds and scold her cat brother when he is being too rowdy with his toys. Chloe is the best snuggler and is always ready to tell you about her day! She loves treats, scratching on her scratching post and greeting visitors. She knows she is a princess and demands to be treated as such!

Clover

Clover and her brother were found in a dumpster and were taken to Cambrian Animal Hospital, then adopted by two staff members. Named Clover to remind everyone how lucky she was to be found, and to this day she wears a four-leaf clover. Ten years later, she has settled into life in our home although still hesitant to meet new people at first. She enjoys playing fetch, where she will call out to have her toy thrown and return in order to do it again. Clover brings a lot of joy into our household, making us laugh every day. We consider ourselves the lucky ones to have this rescue in our lives.

Coco

Coco came to Calgary from Mexico at 8 years of age and he'd had a pretty tough life before Pawsitive Match rescued him. He had lost an eye due to trauma and initially had trouble trusting people but he has become the biggest cuddle bug ever. He is such a big part of our family and has 4 doggie sisters he watches over.

Corky

This is Corky, taken the day we met and adopted him from Pawsitive Match. What a corky dorky guy he is. He has only been with us about three weeks but has made him self right at home and is enjoying life with the zoomies and stealing what shoes he can find and taking them to his bed. So far we have rescued all the shoes. He is quite the character, full of energy and has a very sweet nature. We love him very much.

Cranberry

Cranberry exemplifies the reason we do what we do at Pawsitive Match. It has given us such gratitude to watch Cranberry transform from an abused, terrified pup cowering in her kennel to a cuddly, affectionate girl with a true zest for life. She welcomes each new day with the biggest smile and bum waggle. We love her to bits!

Cranberry and Nala

Nala was my first ever rescue dog and my introduction to Pawsitive Match. After ten years, hundreds of volunteer hours, half a dozen fosters, one foster fail then along came little Cranberry, our second foster fail. These two are great pals and make us smile every day.

Dobi and Daisy

Dobi (left) and Daisy were both adopted from Mexico, Dobi in December 2021 and Daisy in January 2020. They love living in Canada, with a big yard to play in, lots of walks and in the summer hikes in the mountains. They are both very sociable, and love greeting everyone they meet.

Dolly

Meet Dolly, the resilient and loving dog who turned her life around! Once a foster, she found her forever home after overcoming a challenging past with an embedded collar. Dolly's favorite activities now include playing fetch, exploring the great outdoors during camping trips, and cuddling up in king-size beds with her human companions. Dozer

This is Dozer, he is a Pit Bull mixed breed and is the most loving dog, always wanting a pat on the head or a kiss. He goes to visit friends and he is mesmerized by the Koi fish named Shasta and he will play with them for hours.

Still looking for a fur-ever home, little Drake is cute as a button with ears that are sure to break out a smile. His silly, goofy nature sparks laughter with everyone he meets. Vote for Drake, because everybody wants a star!

Frank

Frank loves all animals and has welcomed many fosters over the past seven years. He is the first dog that they usually meet because of his kind demeanor. He happily follows them around until they accept his friendship.

Harley

Harley is a 5 year old mini schnauzer, also known as King Harles. His ball is his favourite thing on the planet- he’ll fetch for hours. Harles is a big dog in a small dogs body, and plays the role of protector for his bigger buds.

Harley Quinn

We adopted Harley Quinn 6 weeks ago from a rescue foundation in Calgary. She was not the cat we booked to see but standing with my back against her cage, she pawed at me through the bars. I couldn't stop thinking about her, so we saw her the next day and the rest is history! She has brought so much laughter and joy into our home in such a short time. She's silly, playful, affectionate and her personality suits our family perfectly. Can't imagine life without her now. She definitely chose us and we are so thankful that she did.

Holly and Rosie

Holly and Rosie are both rescues from two different shelters in Calgary and Airdrie. Holly is 3 and has endless energy. She was a young mom of 5 puppies when she was found abandoned under some stairs. She has come along way and is the loyalist of dogs! Rosie is almost 10 and is our grandma in the house. She tolerates Holly and our two cats and is the chillest of dogs. She loves her walks and especially belly rubs! We are so fortunate to have them be a part of our family!

Kirby

Liva adopted Kirby 2.5 years ago when he was just a puppy from a foster family in Calgary. He's turned into a loveable goofball with bottomless energy for walks, hikes, and adventures.

Kramer

Kramer is a 12 year old Maltese-Yorkie. Also known as Sir, David (his middle name), Kramis Davis, Toes, etc. His favourite toy is his racoon named Wyatt. Since he was a puppy, after he’s done playing, he suckles Wyatt’s nose while kneading his body. He loves vegetables, especially cucumber, which he demands every day. Kramer can sit, stay, lay down, shake paws, spin in a circle, and ring his bell to go outside. Kramer is loud, sassy, and spry for his age. But most importantly, he loves his mom more than anything.

Leila

This is Leila. She is a White English Labrador. She is 10 years old. She celebrated her 10th birthday by having her first ice cream cone.

Lenny

Once a street cat bracing the harsh winters of Lethbridge, Lenny now leads a life of luxury with his mom in Calgary! The word “no” does not exist in his vocabulary and he enjoys watching birds through the window, FaceTiming with his grandparents, long naps with his mom, and chasing paper balls throughout the house.

Loki

Head-turner, congenial, adventurous are but a few adjectives to describe Loki. At 3 and a half years old, Loki is a rescue with a Husky-Elkhound mix in his genealogy. He is always ready for car rides, and hikes in the Rocky Mountains.

Lucy

Lucy (formerly Snow) was adopted from PMRF, September 2020. She surpassed our hopes of a 65lbs dog at 6 months old, and surpassed our hopes of the best girl from the moment we got her. She’s a calm natured, gentle giant. She draws everyone in with her warm eyes, big heart and goofy demeanor. Though she is not a big cuddler, she is always by our side, pawing at us for some love. After a big day of playing and exploring, her favorite thing to do is to nap on the couch between her humans.

Maggie Mae

Maggie Mae is a sweet farm girl! She loves to lay in the sun, play with her toys and guard the house from behind you. She is very picky but very loving. We couldn't make it without her - love you Maggie Mae!

Max

Max is a 12.5 year old Shih Tzu and a Pomeranian. When Max is not wagging his tail constantly or taking a nap, he loves to do tricks for treats. Among other things, his routine involves shaking a paw, rolling over, running through a tunnel, pushing a skateboard with one paw, jumping over a raised pool noodle and retrieving squeaky toys.

Maya

Maya is just over a year old and Mom says I already have a personality that's bigger than me! I have enough sass to make you laugh until you cry. But beware the BALL...once you throw one for me that is your permanent job and I will NOT, I repeat, WILL NOT let you quit throwing it for me. I loveeeee attention, especially neck scratchies. Those are my fave!

Mildred

Hi I’m Mildred but some call me Milli, Bean, and Peach for short. I just had my first birthday on July 4th but I’m big for my age. I think I’m part Irish Wolfhound and St.Bernard but mostly I’m full of love and cuddles. I come across as shy when you first meet me but give me an hour to get to know you and I promise we’ll be friends. I love going for car rides but my favourite things to do are adventures, running around in the yard, going for walks, and chasing my (cat) sister Wasabi.

Nano

Hi, my name is Nano. I am a 13 year old bichon-papillon mix. I love to start my morning with some fried eggs. Always ready for belly rubs - they are my favoritest! I don't realize how small I am and like to keep big dogs in line at the park. Once you meet me, you can't help but fall in love.

Ollie

Ollie is a 2 year old English yellow lab. He is an outgoing, gentle soul who enjoys hikes and agility work with his owner. Ollie also enjoys cuddles and guarding his backyard chickens.

Oskar

Oskar is a 10 year old mini schnauzer. He excels in staring contests and napping on his back. The word quirky would best describe him. When he's not laying on your lap, he will often get a case of the zoomies and tear around the room. Oskar also goes absolutely bananas for bananas!

Ozzy and Milo

Hi I’m Ozzy (mini aussiedoodle) and this is my brother Milo (maltipoo). We love and hate each other at the same time. Our parents are very lucky to have us! :)

Pearl

Pearl and her sister Rue are our foster fails from Pawsitive Match. Pearl is a Princess of princesses. Super dainty and lady-like, not much gets to Pearl. She grooms her luxurious coat obsessively and loves to flop at your feet for a full body massage. She loves to chase bugs, but otherwise she just loves basking in the sun and sleeping.

Penny 1

Watch for the elusive Penny (aka Lanna) in her natural habitat (i.e., the off-leash dog park). She joined her forever home in April 2020 and loves romping around the dog park with her fur sister. She has come a long way since her shy puppy days!

Penny 2

Penny was found in 2015 outside of Calgary as a stray. She had an elastic band tied around her front left paw which was embedded and had to be surgically removed. She healed well and started her new life in her new home. Penny is very sweet and cuddly. She loves to talk and will tell you all about her day from start to finish. Her favourite thing to do when she’s not talking, is curl up with her human for a good nap.

Powerade

There might not be a sweeter, more loving cat on the planet than Powerade. She was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder when she arrived at PMRF, it never dampened her spirit or love for all creatures 2 legged or 4. She has played surrogate mother to many a foster kitten, always making sure everyone has a clean face and bum, and that they feel loved. She enjoys relaxing in the yard with her adoptive mom, dog, and cat siblings.

Raina

Raina, meaning “Queen” in many languages, definitely does not act like Royalty and is the biggest goof ball with an enormous amount of character. Adopted in 2018, Raina enjoys patrolling her premises a.k.a backyard, hiking in the mountains and meeting strangers on her meanders through Calgary. Playtime is a must and to entice her human into it she proceeds to stand front and center “speaking” in code with various woofs, huffing and fake growling. Raina is the best fur-friend ever providing cuddles, face washes and endless amounts of antics that bring smiles to all faces.

Rosie and Lola

Rosie (Tootsie Pop) and Lola (Ring Pop) are sisters and best friends. We adopted them as kittens almost two years ago, and they have grown up along side their three human siblings. They are full of unlimited energy, but make time for snuggles right up on your chest. One of their favourite times of day is afternoon nap time, together. Rosie typically settles in first, and Lola hops in on top to snuggle in together.

Rue 1

Rue is an outgoing 3 year old Pawsitive Match alum, who easily convinced her foster mom that she should stay forever with her giant smile and adorable antics. A true extrovert, Rue is happiest herding her friends at the dog park, receiving belly rubs from the children at the domestic violence shelter where her mom works, being a good sister to the parade of foster animals who stay with her while waiting for a forever home, or snacking on a pup-cup at the local ice cream shop where the neighborhood ice cream lovers give her all of the love and attention she knows she deserves.

Rue 2

Rue is the sister of Pearl and was the runt of her litter. She’s a spicy little fireball and completely opposite of her chill sister Pearl. She brings us endless entertainment with her crazy antics! She loves to play fetch with her ball and will bring it back to you to throw. When she’s not zooming around the house and off the furniture, she will crash on your lap and purr like a fine tuned motor!

Scout and Nelly

Scout and Nelly both love outdoor adventures like hiking, camping and kayaking! Both rescue dogs themselves, they welcome many foster dogs and cats into their home with open paws. Scout's favorite things are: Nelly and ball. While Nelly's favorite things are: naps and snacks.

Sheldon

Sheldon is an adorable chubby guy who loves everyone, and is a great role model to his kitten foster siblings. A PMRF alumni "foster fail" his laid back cuddly squishiness is irresistible to all! He loves big old fashion family Christmases and snacks!

Sola

This is Sola, AKA Sola bear. Here she is pictured in a moment of reflection and contemplation. Sola loves the adventure dog life. Running while her people mountain bike, hiking, tenting and cooling off in any nearby stream or body of water. Most of all, she enjoys being around people and prefers that her belly rubs not end.

Sonia

This is Sonia - she is a very cheerful black pug, who thinks she is still a puppy, while always bringing joy to her parents of 3.5 years. She loves being outside running around with other dogs, saying hi to other "hoomans", and always ready to eat one more snack!

Sugar

Sugar was rescued over 16 years ago. A tiny white cat (that later darkened) in a litter with four other male orange tabby’s. She was impossible to resist. Sugar now lives out her days eating, sleeping, and telling us that she is hungry.

Tikka Bean

This is Tikka Bean, she is a Burnese Mountain dog crossed with Rottweiler and Great Pyrnese. When she was 3.5 months old she had a life threatening tumor that started and was eating all the food we had been feeding her - she was starving to death but getting fatter in the stomach. Thank DOG we have an amazing vet and they were determined to save her life, and they did!! They removed a 12 lb tumor from her belly. She will be 2 years old on October 16, 2023 and are SO blessed to still have her.

Topaz

We adopted Topaz from Pawsitive Match at 8 weeks old in 2021. Formally named Pickle, he is the sweetest, gentlest, adorable boy you can ever have as a cat, he is our world.

Vin and Pumpkin

Vin (tabby) was adopted from Pawsitive Match in December 2022 when he was 1. Pumpkin (orange) came from a farm in Saskatchewan, when she was 4 months old. When they first met they immediately loved each other. They greet people at the door, enjoy running up and down the stairs in between naps, grooming each other, and snuggles.

Willow

I'm a Pawsitive Match Rescue adopted October 1st 2022! In my first 9 months with my family, we've traveled to the US, Kananaskis, and I made so many new best friends! My favourite treats are carrot sticks and cheese, and I love spending my days going on walks with my Pawrents. While they don't know much about my background, they know that I'm the most special dog in the world to them. And we have the best life together. If we ever get to meet, I'll make sure to lay on my back for belly rubs, and then repay you in lots of kisses!

Wilson

Wilson was rescued as a stray after being mauled by a pack of dogs. He had never slept on a bed, walked on a leash, or felt love from a human. Now, Wilson is such a happy boy who sleeps in his cozy bed, never pulls on his leash, and enjoys as many bum scratches and belly rubs as possible. The Husky in him has really come out, and he loves to share his thoughts with everyone by howling/singing along to his favourite tunes! Here he is celebrating his 5th birthday!

Wren

We adopted Wren, as a puppy, from Pawsitive Match in 2021. Since then Wren has become such a keystone in our family. She is our adventure pup, always down for exploring new trails. She adores her kids and is so patient and gentle with them. She is silly, playful, and full of love. She has earned the nickname “Wreck it Wren” after a few too many chewed shoes but we love her nonetheless.
