What's new in 2027?

The contest is (mostly) automated! When you submit an entry or a vote (donation), it will automatically show on the website. One bug we are still working through, wix is having a hard time recognizing if a payment was successfully processed. We will conduct an audit 1x a week, to ensure all donations were successful, and adjust accordingly.

How does the contest work?

Phase 1 – Enter your Pet (August 14 - 22) So you think you have the most adorable, cutest pet ever?  Enter your pet and let the voters decide!To enter, fill out the entry form with your donation of $10 per animal.  With your entry provide a photo of your pet along with a short bio.Phase 2  – Voting (August 23 – October 9) Vote with your wallet as you select which of the entries will make it into our 2027 calendar.  The top 12 pets, with the highest dollar amounts raised, will be featured in our calendar!During the Voting phase donate any amount to your favourite entrant.  Be sure to recruit your family, friends, and anyone they know to support to their favourite animal!All donations, including the entry fee, goes directly to PMRF and the animals in our care.  Note that votes are for the animal and not the photo, and the final photos will differ from the ones on this page.

How do I enter?

Entries are accepted from August 1 to August 22.On the entry form you will be routed to a secure payment screen. Once your payment is cleared you animal will automatically show on the contestant page!Enter your pet here: pawsitivematch.org/calendar-entry

How much does it cost to enter?

Entry fee is $10 per animal.Example: 2 dogs in one photo is $20, or 2 photos with 1 dog each is also $20

How does voting work?

August 23 to October 9, anyone can "vote" for their favorite animal! Voting is done by donation, those voting choose the amount they wish to donate towards their chosen animal.The 12 animals that raise the most will be included in our 2027 calendar!!

I voted, how long before I see it on the website?

Accepted Answer

Votes (donations) are automatically added to the animal you voted for. An audit will be done 1x a week to ensure all payments were successful, and totals will be adjusted accordingly. Note: Only donations done directly through the Calendar Contest will show, those done through the general donation form will not be counted.

My pet is not a cat or dog, can I still enter?

Absolutely, in 2025 we had ferrets in the running!

I am a volunteer can I enter?

Accepted Answer

Yes!! Foster home, volunteer, coordinator, director, or not affiliated with Pawsitive Match at all. Anyone can enter, we are where we are because of our supportive volunteer base and local community.

Will you be using the photo I submitted for the calendar?

Last year we used our volunteer photographers for the photos.We are hoping to do the same this year, but have not yet confirmed this.

What do winners receive?

Our 12 winners will receiveA spot in the calendar Their choice of month (in order of 1st to 12th)A free calendar!The top winner will also win a mini professional photoshoot from Heidi Grace Pet Portraiture, which includes a mounted print of your favourite image.

When can I get a calendar?

We will start selling the calendars once voting is done and winners are contacted.Calendars are anticipated in mid-November.

How can I buy a calendar?

Last year we offered pick up locations and our volunteers could purchase at the shelter. This year we are working on improving how you can buy the calendar! Stay tuned for more details!

Why did my pets donation total decrease?

Accepted Answer

Wix has difficulties determining if the payment was actually successful, so all attempts are automatically added to your pets total. An audit is done 1x a week during the contest, and if there were any non-successful payments they will be manually removed from the total.
